Love and support in Bollywood? Yami Gautam reveals the heartwarming words her husband, Aditya Dhar, shared after watching her film Haq. It's a tale of professional admiration, family balance, and the enduring power of a supportive partnership.
Published on December 14, 2025, this news sheds light on the personal and professional lives of Yami Gautam and Aditya Dhar, two prominent figures in the Bollywood industry. Yami shared that Aditya is her biggest supporter, always providing valuable feedback on her work. After watching her latest film, Haq, he had nothing but praise for her performance.
In an interview with Mid-day India, Yami opened up about her experiences as a mother and the role Aditya plays as a father. She mentioned that Aditya actively shares the responsibilities of parenthood, encouraging her to continue pursuing her career.
"When he saw Haq he said some of the nicest things to me. I always look forward to his feedback on my work as an actor. Being a mother is a blessing in my life but I must work as I want to,” Yami stated.
She also discussed the initial feelings of 'mom-guilt' she experienced when returning to work soon after becoming a mother. However, she was encouraged by her own mother, who advised her not to let motherhood hinder her career aspirations, given the hard work she had put in to become an independent woman.
But here's where it gets interesting... Yami and Aditya's journey began on the set of the 2019 blockbuster Uri: The Surgical Strike, where Aditya was the director and Yami played a key role. Their friendship blossomed, eventually leading to a private romance. They surprised fans by announcing their wedding in June 2021, and their family grew further with the birth of their son, Vedavid, in 2024.
Haq, directed by Suparn Varma, also stars Sheeba Chaddha, Danish Husain, Aseem Hattangady, and Vartika Singh, alongside Yami and Emraan Hashmi. The film draws inspiration from the life and legal battle of Shah Bano Begum, whose landmark case in 1985 led to the Supreme Court granting divorced Muslim women the right to maintenance. The film's release was initially challenged, but the Madhya Pradesh High Court dismissed a petition seeking to halt its debut. Haq was released in theaters on November 7.
Meanwhile, Aditya is celebrating the success of his recent release, Dhurandhar, which features Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, and Arjun Rampal. Released on December 5, the film is nearing a remarkable ₹300 crore at the Indian box office.
And this is the part most people miss... This story isn't just about a successful actress and director; it's a glimpse into the importance of a supportive partnership in the demanding world of Bollywood. It highlights the challenges of balancing career and family, and the significance of encouragement from loved ones.
